The First Baijiu Made in the West · Christchurch, New Zealand
The Moment
A spirit distilled in the Southern Alps, drawn from a Taiwanese family recipe, shaped in an 1830s copper column still. Entering a room where Scotch and Cognac have stood for decades. Not as a challenger. As something categorically different.
Taizi is the first baijiu made outside of China and Taiwan. Produced in Christchurch, New Zealand, from a Taiwanese family recipe that spans generations. Distilled with water drawn from the Southern Alps.
The name means Crown Prince. Not yet emperor. Still in motion. Still becoming. That tension between heritage and ambition is not a marketing device. It is the spirit itself.
TFWA Asia Pacific represents Taizi's first step onto the global travel retail stage. Singapore is the right corridor. For decades it has been where East and West negotiate, where premium moves, and where buyers who understand the difference between novelty and rarity come to work.
We are not here to explain baijiu. We are here to take our position within it.
Why travel retail is the right channel for Taizi.
The traveller moving through Changi Airport is the same person Taizi was built for. Culturally fluent. Oriented toward experience over excess. Looking for the thing that carries a story worth repeating.
