2009: Incorporation
In 2009, New Zealand Chinese Liquor Limited was officially incorporated in Christchurch by brothers Ben and Sam Lu, marking the formal beginning of Taizi’s journey.
This milestone followed years of planning that began in 2007, when the idea of crafting a Western-made baijiu first took shape. The incorporation united Chinese distillation heritage with New Zealand craftsmanship, laying the foundation for what would become the world’s first baijiu produced in the West.
Guided by their Taiwanese roots and New Zealand vision, the brothers committed to bridging cultures through authenticity, purity, and craftsmanship. 2009 was more than a business beginning, it was the moment a dream took form in legal ink, bound by purpose and family.
