About New Zealand

Isolated from the rest of the world, New Zealand was one of the last countries found and settled by humanity. The first people called this place Aotearoa (pronounced in Maori as [ao 'tearoa]) -

"the land of the long white cloud".

At the far-reached corners of the Earth, New Zealand is a country with no equal.

The Mountains of New Zealand are shrouded with green forests or blankets of powdered snow. Hidden rivers and waterfalls flow into quiet lakes and pure-clean springs. The rocky ravines and deep valleys bear witness to sleeping volcanoes; old and new.

New Zealand is what Nature was meant to be.

Famous movies like Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia and Avatar were all filmed in New Zealand. New Zealand is surrounded with a formidable coastline teeming with unique marine life. The two main islands of New Zealand are separated by Cook Strait. The South Island is close to Antarctica, and the North Island is looking across to Fiji and Tonga.

With a breath-taking and unbeatable natural land and weather, New Zealand is also the home of arguably- the best rugby team in the world, the ALL BLACKS. Despite being a proud country, New Zealanders are famous for not taking themselves seriously. New Zealanders often refer to themselves as Kiwi, a name borrowed from a small flightless bird, indigenous to New Zealand. This humble, self-deprecating attitude is an endearing part of the New Zealand ethos.

The climate in New Zealand is mild, temperature and diverse. In the most northern reach of New Zealand, sub-tropical temperatures can be found. In southern corners of New Zealand, alpine weathers of snow and clouds can be found. In between, you will find the weather of hot-springs, vineyards and fruit farms. New Zealand is one of the few countries in the world where you can experience the weather of all four seasons. All year round.

New Zealand is simply, Pure. Real. Clean.
